The High Expedition is a Talkeetna Recreational Marijuana Dispensary

The High Expedition is proud to open the ultimate cannabis destination experience for curious marijuana customers in Talkeetna and beyond, carrying top-shelf Alaskan cannabis products grown in house and by local Alaskan providers. More than an average retail store, The High Expedition’s mission is to align cannabis with the legacy of famous mountaineer Ray Genet, the outdoors and action sports by creating an active lifestyle brand.

History:
Preparing for opening on May 12th, 2017, the High Expedition has spent years readying their dispensary to serve the cannabis community of Talkeetna locals and visitors from around the globe. The owner always was fascinated with cannabis and its potential as a plant and ending of prohibition, and when Alaska began its petition to legalize recreational consumption, he threw his efforts into advocating and advancing the cannabis movement. As he worked, he realized he needed to be a part of this budding industry, and knew Talkeetna was the perfect site for a dispensary.

Friends with the son of Ray Genet, the famous mountain man who was the first guide on Denali, the founder of The High Expedition was able to build his retail dispensary in the same log cabin Genet built to serve his business, Alaska Mountain Guides Inc. He was inspired by the legacy of this man, daring to do the impossible and pioneering the mountain climbing industry in Alaska. The High Expedition continues that legacy, overcoming the odds and climbing heights to prove to the world cannabis’ benefits, positive potential and true place in active, healthy lifestyles.

Upon opening, The High Expedition will showcase locally crafted Alaskan marijuana products, carrying goods ranging from flower and edibles to concentrates. As they grow, their dispensary plans on vertically integrating, introducing their own line of marijuana products in addition to showcasing their vendor partners’. They plan on prioritizing their offering of high-CBD products, for customers in search of strains with more medicinal benefits. The High Expedition’s retail dispensary also will showcase local Talkeetna glassware, as well as offer rolling papers, glass pipes, vaporizers and other cannabis accessories.

The High Expedition gladly accepts both cash and card transactions at their dispensary, in addition to a local’s discount for Alaska residents. They offer a designated parking lot for their dispensary customers, with handicap spaces and an ADA-accessible ramp to serve all clients.

Located along the main road in Talkeetna, The High Expedition experience is in the foothills of the Denali State and National Parks. They invite visitors from nearby Susitna North, Chase, Petersville, Trapper Creek, Skwentna, Willow, Fishhook and Meadow Lakes to their retail store, as well as travelers journeying to Alaska via Anchorage, Cantwell, Susitna, Wasilla, Palmer, Big Lake and the regions surrounding Denali.
